About the Artists

Deborah Pearson

Fine artist Deborah developed her skills through watercolor, oils, and charcoal study. As a professional graphic artist for over 30 years, in 2018 Deb devoted herself to exploring mixed-media and collage techniques, particularly in her original collage art. Her deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and wild things often informs her subject matter. She loves collage artwork because it uses color, pattern, and texture to explore the depths of images, creating a muted 3-D effect. Each piece of papercraft art becomes a revelation of the natural world, piece by piece.

Alexis Hollis

Origamist Alexis fell in love with creating sculptural art through paper, leading her to explore the world of papercraft art. The endless types, textures, colors, and patterns of paper stock serve as a constant source of inspiration for her original collage art. When planning a project, choosing color palettes and combinations is her favorite part of the process. Envisioning how these motif selections will transform with the folded paper presents both a challenge and a joy. Additionally, origami jewelry design adds another layer to the artistic process, as each piece becomes a unique expression of wearable art, reminiscent of intricate collage artwork.
